Sad to say, we are still on Lockdown. Looking at the brighter side, I had plenty of time to finish compiling my CHINA trip 5 months ago. Yes guys, I am totally safe, I was there August of last year (2019), before this CoVid19 outbreak. Oh GOD, heal the world!
Just wanted to share with you guys that I had the opportunity to explore Shanghai & Beijing CHINA before this pandemic.
Coming to China, I have no expectations. I was super busy days prior to my trip & I’ve done very minimal research. BUT China did not disappoint. I must say that the country has a great balance of modern time but still keeping their culture intact. It is a awesome place to eat, shop, connect with nature and did I mentioned eating already?
4 hours plane ride from Philippines to Shanghai China via Cebu Pacific.
The Bund – City Skyline, good on daylight, but wonderful at night! Check it out!
Nanjing Road – Strip of Shopping malls & Restaurants! Don’t miss it 🙂
Yu Garden – Like a time warp. Understand Chinese history & culture here! A lot of outlet store, restaurants & souvenir shops too.
The Great Wall Of China – No need for introduction, really the highlight of my China trip. I’m Speachless!
Olympic Village – Where 2008 Olympics happened. Huge & Amazing place. Go & visit!
Tiananmen Square – The square contains the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Tiananmen Square is within the top ten largest city squares in the world, how’s that!
Communication barrier, but here’s a tip: Try to approach the younger one’s, they are more accomodating & chances of them understanding english is much higher.
Not much Currency Exchange. It is a credit card country, HOWEVER, if your credit card is not Unionpay, chances are, it is useless. Setting up an Alipay account is not possible if your card is not Unionpay as well. We have to ask people from the hotel to book us a Taxi/Didi. Do you understand the hassle? But yeah… we managed.
Hope this post is helpful!
